Advocating for Health for All in Africa
WACI Health is an African regional advocacy organisation working to end life-threatening epidemics and advance health for all in Africa. Women-led and evidence-driven, we steward space for the leadership of communities and civil society in the decisions that shape health on the continent.
Since1997
We began in 1997 as the World AIDS Campaign, formed to build public awareness and strengthen civil society accountability in the global AIDS response. In 2008, we made a deliberate shift from a global organisation to one rooted in and accountable to Africa. That decision reflected a conviction that the priorities shaping health on the continent should be set by African voices and leadership.
Today, we convene communities and civil society across the full spectrum of health policies and financing from HIV, TB, and malaria, to maternal and newborn health, and the governance of global health institutions.
Our role is to drive the reforms that make health for all possible. We strengthen civil society and community advocacy, build networks and movements across the continent, influence the political decisions that determine who gets access to health and on what terms, and hold governments to the commitments they have made.

WACI Health exists to champion the end of life-threatening epidemics and health for all in Africa by influencing political priorities through an effective, evidence-driven Pan-African civil society voice and action.
