Our Approach

How We Work

To advance health equity and resilient systems for all, our approach is anchored in four foundational pillars.

01

Advocacy and policy

We champion progressive health policies and co-create advocacy priorities with communities and civil society. We provide the messaging, evidence, resources, and coordination that enable partners to engage with clarity and impact at the national, regional, and global levels.

02

Convening and coalition-building

We build pan-African coalitions and broker strategic alliances among diverse global and regional health stakeholders. We create shared spaces for strategy, learning, and collective action, and coordinate unified movements to tackle complex health policy, financing, and systems issues together.

03

Evidence and accountability

We generate and use evidence to inform advocacy and analyses that guide our strategic actions. We track commitments and hold decision-makers accountable for the investments and promises they have made on health.

04

Community and civil society leadership

We secure community and civil society representation in governance processes and convene voices to impact health decision-making at the national, regional and global levels. We coordinate community advisory boards for clinical research, and co-create structures for community participation and leadership where none exist.

The four pillars run through every area of our work, from financing and governance to the movements we help build across the continent.
